Description
Imperial German WWI S98/05 Butcher Bayonet & Scabbard. Measures 20 1/2″ overall with scabbard The steel blade measures 14 7/16” x 1 1/4″, has never been sharpened and is maker marked “J H Becker Solingen” on the ricasso and “Dietrich Altenburg” on the reverse ricasso. The spine stampings are partially visible. The steel scabbard measures 15 5/16″ x 1 5/8″ and has a pleasing untouched patina. The wooden grips, pommel, and crossguard are untouched and exhibit very minor wear. The pommel is stamped with a crown above the release. The multi piece machine sewn and riveted black leather belt frog shows wear and some leather loss at the frog stud. Overall very good untouched condition. Pick up is Sunday, March 29 from 10 am to 4 pm at our gallery in Lancaster, Ohio 43130 or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
