Cabinet card style photograph taken at the Shiloh Battlefield most likely during the 2nd Shiloh Battlefield Association Reunion in April 1895. This image features a tree and split rail fence on the Shiloh Battlefield with the browned ink notation on the reverse, “Tree marking spot where Gen Albert Sidney Johnston was killed”. This image is from a group of 18 Shiloh related images found together.  The photographer was most likely F. Head of Mexico, Missouri. The image itself measures 7″ x 4.5″ and is affixed to an 8″ x 5″ mat. Some wear and scuffing to the lower left edge of the mat NOTE: This is one of  a group of 18 Shiloh Battlefield – Reunion related photograph found together. The other images are listed in lots       .  While this photo is not dated and does not bear a photographer’s imprint, we believe that it is a photo taken by F. Head of Mexico, Missouri at the 1895 Shiloh battlefield reunion. We base this on the following; Most of the images are the same size and are mounted on identical mats. The only photographer listed on any of these images which bear photographer imprints  is F. Head of Mexico, Missouri. Finally, any of the photos which are dated bear dates from April 1895; the time frame of the reunion.   Pick up is Sunday, March 29 from 10 am to 4 pm at our gallery in Lancaster, Ohio 43130 or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
