Description
Civil War regimental history of the 23rd Pennsylvania Infantry regiment compiled by the Secretary of the 23rd Pa. Survivors Association 1903 – 04. This 431 page book is a phenomenal phot reference for the regiment as it includes war time photographs of soldiers in this regiment. Also includes regimental roster, index, and names and addresses of known survivors. Overall good condition. Minor scuffing and wear with minor separation at the back cover. A portion of page 291-292 is missing. The 23rd Pennsylvania Infantry was assigned to the 4th and then 6th Corps of the Army of the Potomac. The Regiment was detached for a period of time in 1864 for Duty at the Johnson Island Prison Camp in Sandusky Bay, Ohio. During the war they were engaged or present at Fair Oaks, Malvern Hill, White Oak Swamp, Charles City Crossroads, Antietam, Fredericksburg, Chancellorsville, Gettysburg, Stone House Mountain, Virginia, Culpeper, Mine Run, Cold Harbor, and Petersburg. Pick up is Sunday, March 29 from 10 am to 4 pm at our gallery in Lancaster, Ohio 43130 or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
