Description
A collection of large-size United States paper currency featuring various denominations and series dates from the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The group includes Series 1923 $1 Silver Certificates, commonly referred to as Horseblanket notes, which feature blue Treasury seals, blue serial numbers, and a central portrait of George Washington. Also included is a Series 1917 $1 United States Note characterized by a red Treasury seal and serial numbers, a central portrait of George Washington, and an engraved illustration of Columbus in Sight of Land. The collection further contains a Series 1899 $2 Silver Certificate depicting George Washington flanked by allegorical figures representing Agriculture and Manufacture. The notes are made of engraved paper with intricate reverse designs featuring green ink scrollwork and large denomination identifiers. Several items are presented in clear plastic protective sleeves with various handwritten collector notes and stickers attached. Burns in-house shipping is available. Pick up is Saturday, Feb. 28 from 10 am to 4 pm at our gallery in Lancaster, Ohio 43130 or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
