Lot 417:
Update: I was told by a bidder that the speedometer in KPH (Metric) in lot 571 could go to the Francorchamps. If you think this is the case you’ll have to bid on that lot. thank you! 22 known sold, with 19 chassis numbers confirmed, with 11 known and 7 on the road. This car has a clean title in Tom’s name. He bought the car in the 1990s for $75 from a man in the Detroit area, and was never able to gather more information on this car’s story. Because the front end was quite rusted, apparently Tom attached a period TR2 front end, along with its associated serial plate. We also have that serial plate and title. This car now bears the original Francorchamps serial plate and again we have the title in Tom’s name. Body, frame and floors all good. We have no badging for this car, but we do have many trim pieces as well as rear window frame pieces, both inner and outer, gear shift knob and dash. We have also included in this lot the engine and transmission that came in this car when Tom bought it, although it is not believed to be original to the car. Another addition to this lot is a rare original Francorchamp brochure, of which under five are known. We also included a pair or rocker panels Tom had made up for this, or one in particular that says “Francorchamps” on it and the best other one we found nearby that is an opposite and match for the pair. Also throwing in a Francorchamps badge Tom cast himself. Not an original, but Tom liked to cast these things for fun. Our in house shipping is NOT available. Pickup is Sunday, February 26th from 10am to 4pm and Monday, February 27th from 11am to 3pm. We’ll have you come pay at our office in Carroll, Ohio. Some of the cars and parts will be there, some will be at a second nearby location. We’ll give you further instructions when you arrive.
