First edition of Indian Depredations In Utah compiled and edited by Peter Gottfredson. Copyright 1919 by Gottfredson and published by "Press of Skelton Publishing Co. Salt Lake City". This volume covers the Indian Wars in Utah from 1847 – 1872 including the first battle in Utah at Battle Creek in 1849 through the estimated 150 battles, skirmishes, raids, and military engagements taking place from 1865 to 1872, primarily between Mormon settlers in Sanpete County, Sevier County and other parts of central and southern Utah, and members of 16 Ute, Southern Paiute, Apache, and Navajo tribes. The volume concludes with information on legislation authorizing a medal for Indian War Veterans and monies authorized for these veterans. 352 pages with numerous photographs. Overall fine condition complete copy. In-house shipping is available.
