Description
This collection consists of United States Marine Corps (USMC) 8-point utility covers, spanning from the mid-20th century to the late Cold War era. The group includes two herringbone twill (HBT) examples and several woodland camouflage patterns.
The first item is an olive drab (OD) green HBT utility cap featuring a black stenciled Eagle, Globe, and Anchor (EGA) insignia on the front panel. The interior crown features a visible size stamp of 7 1/4.
The second item is a tan HBT utility cap, also featuring a black stenciled EGA insignia. This variant was typically used with summer utility uniforms.
The remaining items are woodland camouflage pattern utility caps. One cap is labeled CAP, UTILITY, CAMOUFLAGE, W/MC INSIGNIA, TYPE I under contract DLA100-79-C-2676, manufactured by Propper Int’l., Inc., size Medium. Another cap is labeled CAP, CAMOUFLAGE PATTERN, WOODLAND CAMOUFLAGE PRINTED under contract DLA100-89-D-0326, produced by Equa Industries, Inc., size 7 1/4, with a material composition of 80% cotton and 20% nylon. A third camouflage cap is labeled CAP COMBAT, BDU under contract DLA100-89-B-0001, size 7 3/4. One woodland camouflage cover is personally named R.P. MASON in ink on the interior. We do our best to describe all items in the sale, and we definitely take a ton of photos. But, we are not able to guarantee authenticity or era of items in the sale. Pickup is Wednesday, July 15, from Noon to 5 pm at our facility in Lancaster, OH. Alternate pickup day is available by appointment for a $5 fee per lot or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
