Lot 25063:
Description
This is a United States Marine Corps Tropical Combat Hat, commonly known as a boonie hat, in the ERDL (Engineer Research and Development Laboratory) Highland or brown-dominant camouflage pattern. The hat is constructed from ripstop cotton poplin fabric and features a wide brim with concentric reinforcement stitching and a nylon webbing foliage ring around the crown. The hat is equipped with four screened metal ventilation grommets. Affixed to the front is a bronzed USMC Eagle, Globe, and Anchor (EGA) screw-back insignia. Three steel grenade pull rings with pins are attached to the foliage loops, representing a common combat-zone field modification. The original green cord chin strap remains present, secured by a leather tension slide.
