Description
A pair of original World War II era US Army cavalry boots featuring an integrated tall cuff with a three-buckle closure. These boots are constructed of smooth brown leather with a lace-up lower section. The interior cuff of each boot contains detailed ink stamps identifying the date of September 30, 1941, size 9 C, International Shoe Co., Contract No. W-669-QM-11244, Spec. No. 9-12, and Boston Q.M. Depot. The leather outsoles are stamped U.S.A., 9 C, and S-55. The rubber heels bear the Seiberling manufacturer mark with a stylized S logo and the number 11. An additional handwritten or stamped number 811 11347 is present on the interior. This specific triple-buckle design was utilized by cavalry and mechanized units and served as a precursor to the standard M-1943 combat boot.
