Description
This lot comprises a variety of United States military headgear components and field equipment spanning multiple service branches and eras from World War I to the modern period. Included is a U.S. Navy or Marine Corps style peaked cap frame featuring a blue wool band, black visor, brown leather sweatband, and a size label marked 6 7/8. Combat headgear accessories consist of a Woodland pattern helmet cover and several camouflage mesh veils in a Mitchell style pattern. The collection contains multiple coarse mesh helmet nets in tan, brown, and olive drab, with one net retaining several yellowed adhesive markers. Identification items include two named elastic helmet bands, one featuring the name NELSON on a Universal Camouflage Pattern background and another olive drab band marked TORRESPICO. An M1 helmet liner headband is present with printed contract markings including HEADBAND, HELMET, LINER, COMBAT, and stock number 8415-753-5764. Uniform accessories include a pair of gold tone metal buttons with threaded screw posts featuring the U.S. Navy officer eagle and anchor design. Field gear includes a khaki canvas double magazine pouch for the M1911 pistol, with interior markings reading MAR 1918 and PAT. JAN. 1 1918. Additional hardware consists of a black leather cap chinstrap and several metal helmet suspension clips. We do our best to describe all items in the sale, and we definitely take a ton of photos. But, we are not able to guarantee authenticity or era of items in the sale. Pickup is Wednesday, July 15, from Noon to 5 pm at our facility in Lancaster, OH. Alternate pickup day is available by appointment for a $5 fee per lot or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
