Description
A WWII-era M1C paratrooper helmet configuration consisting of a steel shell and a paratrooper-specific liner. The steel shell features a front-joined stainless steel rim, commonly referred to as a front seam, and swivel chinstrap loops or bales. The exterior surface retains an olive drab finish with visible cork texture. The interior high-pressure plastic liner is equipped with olive drab canvas H-pattern webbing secured by A-washers. It features paratrooper-specific canvas A-yokes with brass hardware for chincup attachment. Included is a leather nape strap and a tan leather liner chinstrap with a green-painted buckle. The helmet is fitted with a small-mesh camouflage net containing interwoven strips of tan and forest green burlap scrim. A canvas bandage pouch is tied to the front of the helmet with black block lettering that reads FIRST-AID. The pouch contains a Carlisle model metal first-aid dressing tin. Faded black ink characters appearing as D-29 are visible on the interior canvas webbing. We do our best to describe all items in the sale, and we definitely take a ton of photos. But, we are not able to guarantee authenticity or era of items in the sale. Pickup is Wednesday, July 15, from Noon to 5 pm at our facility in Lancaster, OH. Alternate pickup day is available by appointment for a $5 fee per lot or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
