A collection of silver bullion coins struck by the Royal Canadian Mint in 2017. Each coin is composed of 1.5 troy ounces of .9999 fine silver with a legal tender face value of 8 Dollars. The reverse, designed by Pierre Leduc, features a detailed depiction of a grizzly bear standing on a rock. Inscriptions on the reverse include CANADA 2017, 9999, and FINE SILVER 1 1/2 OZ ARGENT PUR, along with a micro-engraved maple leaf security mark and the artist’s initials PL. The obverse displays the effigy of Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt with the inscriptions ELIZABETH II, D. G. REGINA, and 8 DOLLARS. Both sides feature a radial line background pattern designed to deter counterfeiting. Each coin is protected by a clear plastic capsule with a white foam gasket and is accompanied by an individual plastic display stand.
