Description

This Victorian-era desk accessory is designed in the Eastlake style, featuring a double inkwell configuration with an integrated pen rack. The piece is constructed from cast iron with a dark finish, supporting a pair of clear, faceted molded glass inkwell inserts. The wide rectangular base is decorated with stylized floral and geometric relief patterns. Each inkwell is topped with a hinged cast iron lid that repeats the decorative motifs found on the base. The rear of the stand features a tall pen rack with notched supports for multiple writing instruments and a decorative gallery of small gothic-style arches. This design is frequently attributed to Tatum as a dual postal ink stand. No manufacturer marks are visible on the item.
