Volume 1: Earhart, John F. (1848-1941). The Color Printer: A Treatise on the Use of Colors in Typographic Printing. Cincinnati, Ohio: Earhart & Richardson, 1892. First Edition. Quarto. Bound in publisher’s grey cloth with decorative gold and black stamping. This landmark work includes numerous color plates demonstrating color theory, mixing, and typographic application. Features a frontispiece portrait of the author with a facsimile signature reading “Yours truly John F. Earhart.”
Volume 2: The Ault & Wiborg Co. Poster Album. Cincinnati: The Ault & Wiborg Co., May 20, 1902. First Edition. Quarto. Bound in publisher’s green cloth with a white-stamped Art Nouveau frame. This volume serves as a high-quality reissue of the company’s famous ink advertisement posters. It contains vibrant, full-page color plates designed by leading artists of the era, including Will Bradley, Henri, Crittenden, and Binner. The introductory text specifies that this album was produced due to the exhaustion of unbound poster stocks and was sold to the public for 3.00 dollars at the time of publication.
