Description
This collection consists of a group of American coin silver spoons and various serving implements featuring weighted sterling silver handles. The spoons are designed in the traditional fiddle pattern, a style prevalent in 19th-century American silver production. Several spoons are engraved with monograms or full names, including E.D.M., Sarah D. Bliss, and a single letter C. The serving pieces feature weighted sterling silver handles decorated with various ornate patterns, including scrolled, floral, and shell motifs, some of which are in the style of the Chantilly pattern. The collection includes a large carving knife and fork, multiple cake and pie servers, an engraved serving scoop, a meat fork, several small knives and spreaders, a bottle opener, a nail file, and a nailer tool. The functional ends, such as blades and tines, are made of stainless steel or carbon steel. Some blades are marked STAINLESS, and several pieces retain tags identifying them as sterling handled.
