Description
Confederate Southern Cross of Honor, 1927 U.C.V. reunion badge, post war photographs and ephemera of J. M. Guinn. The photographs include Guinn as an old man, and his son at his decorated grave. In one photo he is wearing his Southern Cross of Honor. The ephemera includes a telegram notification of his death on January 1, 1938 and his wallet with identification for “The Old Soldier’s Home” in Jacksonville, Florida. The Southern Cross of Honor was made by Charles Crankshaw, Atlanta Georgia. It appears to have originally had a pinback attachment device that was replaced with a screwback device. The reunion badge is for the U.C.V. – United Confederate Veteran’s Reunion held at Tampa, Florida April 5-8, 1927. Pick up is Sunday, March 29 from 10 am to 4 pm at our gallery in Lancaster, Ohio 43130 or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
