Description

This .69 caliber flintlock musket is a French Charleville pattern featuring a US surcharge. The firearm is constructed with a dark wood stock and an iron barrel secured by three metal bands. The lock plate is marked with a US stamp. The breech of the barrel displays Z and B markings, along with a small N stamp. The side plate is stamped with ATC or AT and an additional obscured letter. A small early numeral 3 or 5 is stamped into the wood stock behind the tang. The internal lock mechanism, which is shown both assembled and removed for inspection, is marked with the numeral 13. The firearm retains an under-barrel ramrod and a flint clamped in the cock jaws with a leather pad. The musket appears to have been shortened at some point in its history. Barrel length: 33 inches Overall length: 48 inches. This item is either black powder or manufactured in or before 1898 (and does not take readily available ammunition), and thus does not require an FFL or background check.
