Description
This collection of vintage celluloid buttons is organized across several labeled display boards. The assortment includes categories designated as realistics, small, tight top, and examples accented with rhinestones. The buttons feature a variety of forms including floral designs, fruits, and representational objects such as a clothespin, a spool of thread, and a clock face. Decorative techniques include geometric patterns and imitation finishes such as tortoiseshell and wood grain. Several examples are embellished with clear rhinestones in pave and accent configurations. The lot includes a Worksheet for Celluloid Buttons from Blue Book Section 1 with representative examples attached. Some boards contain handwritten notations such as metalized and zipper pull.
