Description
This collection of buttons features a diverse array of avian motifs including owls, parrots, swans, and roosters. The assortment includes examples crafted from various materials such as brass, pewter, carved horn, bone, ivory, glass, mother-of-pearl, and modern synthetics. Decorative techniques include embossed metalwork, intricate carving, and hand-painted details. Several items are accompanied by handwritten notations on the mounting board referencing button identification catalogs such as the Big Book of Buttons and About Buttons. Specific notations include a piece attributed to Shirley Shaw dated 1987, and others identified as circa 1870s and 1940s reproductions. The buttons are mounted on a labeled display board.
Mounting board measures approximately 9 inches in width. Pick up is Friday, March 13 from 10 am to 4 pm at our gallery in Lancaster, Ohio 43130 or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
