Description
This collection of buttons features a variety of mythological and fantastic creatures, including dragons, unicorns, griffins, and mermaids. The assortment includes examples crafted from various metals, molded plastic, and casein. Construction methods vary from high-relief and three-dimensional sculptural forms to openwork patterns. Notable pieces include a metal button with the Latin inscription EXS DEVS SPES NOSTRA and an openwork dragon design accented with clear paste stones. Several items are presented on a white display board with handwritten identification labels such as Dragon and Casein. The items exhibit various finishes including gilt, silver-tone, and naturalistic patinas.
