Description
This collection of antique and vintage buttons is organized on two cataloged display boards. The first board, titled Grains, Grass & Cattails, focuses on botanical themes and features buttons made from enamel, shell, crystallized tin, pewter, Gutta Percha, brass, and celluloid. Many examples display detailed relief work of wheat and stems. The second board, titled Flowers on Brass Buttons, contains floral-themed buttons in various styles, including Japanned with steel accents, paste-embellished, and pierced designs. Materials used in this group include cold enamel, porcelain-style inserts, and composite constructions with wood or fabric backings. Descriptive labels on the boards specify material, size classifications, and manufacturing techniques such as Paris back, cricket cage, and three-piece construction. Pick up is Friday, March 13 from 10 am to 4 pm at our gallery in Lancaster, Ohio 43130 or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
