Description
This lot features an extensive collection of vintage novelty and decorative sewing buttons organized and mounted on several display boards. The assortment includes a Fabric Set in Metal group with various embroidered and textile-inset metal buttons. An Animal Realistics board showcases buttons in the shapes of animals carved from bone, wood, and molded from ceramic and phenolic resin, including a green fish labeled as Bakelite. A significant portion of the collection consists of multiple series of small, colorful plastic animal buttons in various poses and hues, including cats, dogs, ducks, squirrels, and horses. Additional categorized sets feature miniature representations of musical instruments such as banjos, saxophones, and trumpets, as well as everyday objects like hats, vests, and umbrellas. A thematic series of miniature busts titled Heads Eastern Hemisphere is present in both metallic and plastic finishes, with handwritten labels identifying figures such as Turk, Blackman, Chinaman, Hindu, Egyptian, and Sheik. The collection exhibits a wide range of materials including metal, plastic, wood, bone, and ceramic.
Display boards approximately 12 inches in width. Pick up is Friday, March 13 from 10 am to 4 pm at our gallery in Lancaster, Ohio 43130 or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
