Description
This collection of buttons is presented on five display cards, organized by thematic categories including fans, roses, identifiable flowers, and lily of the valley. The assortment features a variety of materials such as enameled metal, hand-painted porcelain, carved bone or celluloid, glass, and wood. Specific designs include fan-shaped buttons in various media, three-dimensional and painted roses, a molded white daisy, pansies, and detailed metal floral reliefs. The lily of the valley group includes motifs in mother-of-pearl and black glass. Several buttons are accompanied by handwritten labels identifying them as Jack-in-the-pulpit, daffodil celluloid, and bone chrysanthemum. Construction techniques include hand-painting, carving, molding, and metal stamping.
Card dimensions approximately 9 x 12 inches Pick up is Friday, March 13 from 10 am to 4 pm at our gallery in Lancaster, Ohio 43130 or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
