Description
This collection features an assortment of vintage buttons presented on a descriptive display card. These items are buttons crafted from a wide variety of materials including bronze, pewter, copper, wood, leather, gutta-percha, porcelain, and various types of glass and early plastics such as phenolic and acrylic. Notable pieces include a bronze button from Studio D. Weiler featuring a gavel and hand motif, and a gourd and paper piece from Studio C. Hatton depicting mammals. Other designs include floral patterns like lilies and various flowers, animal motifs such as bees and bulldogs, and figural representations including heads and a hand holding a gavel. Geometric shapes such as triangles, squares, and hexagons are present. Several items are labeled with specific classification codes and material descriptions, including cinnabar, nickel silver, and tortoiseshell.
