Description
This offering consists of an extensive collection of antique, vintage, and modern buttons professionally mounted on multiple display cards. The grouping is categorized by type and era, featuring a selection of drum buttons dated circa 1840 to 1870, multiple cards of whistle buttons characterized by a single central hole, and various novelty buttons in figural shapes such as animals, holiday characters, and household objects. Materials represented include molded and faceted glass, embossed and gilded metals, carved wood, bone, horn, mother-of-pearl shell, and early plastics such as celluloid, bakelite, and vegetable ivory. Several cards include handwritten notations identifying specific construction characteristics such as Paris Back, composition, and casein. The collection includes various sizes and decorative techniques, including pierced, enameled, and inlaid designs.
Card dimensions approximately 12 x 9 inches each Pick up is Friday, March 13 from 10 am to 4 pm at our gallery in Lancaster, Ohio 43130 or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
