Description
This extensive collection of antique and vintage buttons features a significant assortment of Czech black glass alongside various other materials. The assembly includes buttons crafted from mother-of-pearl, metal, shell, horn, wood, and composition. Specific groupings are identified on the display cards as black glass whistles, dyed mother-of-pearl of mixed ages, and stud back mother-of-pearl. The collection showcases a wide variety of forms, including standard round and hexagonal shapes, as well as novelty designs such as a rocking horse, a miniature house, and a golfer. Technical notes on the cards indicate constructions such as pearlized horn, metal over wood, and shell in metal with Paris backmarks. Decorative elements include intricate metalwork, glass faceting, painted details, and inlaid designs.
Measurements: Display cards approximately 9 by 12 inches each. Pick up is Friday, March 13 from 10 am to 4 pm at our gallery in Lancaster, Ohio 43130 or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
