Description
This collection consists of antique Czech glass and Victorian metal diminutive buttons presented on two systematic sample cards. The first card, labeled DIMI – METAL, contains an assortment of gold- and silver-toned metal buttons featuring embossed, filigree, and inset designs. Notable motifs include crowns, geometric patterns, and astrological symbols such as the Libra scales. The second card, labeled DIMINUTIVES, houses a diverse group of buttons crafted from blown glass, faceted glass, painted glass, ceramic, rubber, horn, and early plastics. This card includes various designs such as ladybugs, floral patterns, and geometric shapes. Both cards feature handwritten identification notes including BLOWN, SAPPHIRETE, RUBBER CROSS, GLOVE, and HORN. These are buttons mounted for study or retail display, representing various manufacturing techniques from the late 19th to early 20th centuries. Pick up is Friday, March 13 from 10 am to 4 pm at our gallery in Lancaster, Ohio 43130 or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
