Spring Button Auction Day 2
Lot 2491:
Description
A collection of antique Czech glass buttons and Victorian-era decorative buttons mounted on four categorized sample cards. These items are buttons crafted from various materials including molded glass, green glass, and mother-of-pearl. The Czech glass examples feature geometric, floral, and figural designs, many with gilt or gold-tone accents consistent with late 19th to early 20th-century craftsmanship. The mother-of-pearl buttons demonstrate specialized techniques such as veneering, engraving, gilding, and piercing with steel mirrors. One card is labeled Victorian Green Glass and contains round and geometric patterns. Another card features small molded glass designs, including a bird motif. A third card displays unusual mother-of-pearl buttons. The final card includes various decorative pieces such as a carved white figural button, a blue accordion-shaped button, and buttons with handwritten identification labels including Stronghold Steve, Jacksonian Rose, and British make.
