Description
A collection of antique and vintage buttons presented on three individual sample cards. The assortment includes various decorative techniques and materials, primarily mother-of-pearl and abalone shell. One card is titled 42 Small Shell Whistles and features numerous small carved shell pieces. A second card, labeled Watch-Wheel (MOP), displays mother-of-pearl buttons integrated with metal watch-wheel components; hand-written notations on this card include Triple, Off Set, and 2 Pieces of Shell + Adl. Metal. The third card, titled Wax Resist on Shell, features iridescent shell buttons decorated with landscape and floral motifs using a wax resist technique. These items are buttons consistent with Czech manufacturing from the late 19th through the early 20th centuries.
Individual cards measure approximately 7.5 inches in width. Pick up is Friday, March 13 from 10 am to 4 pm at our gallery in Lancaster, Ohio 43130 or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
