Description
This collection consists of antique and vintage black glass buttons featuring a variety of animal motifs. The buttons are mounted on a red display board and include depictions of birds, insects, and mammals. Specific identified motifs include a wading bird, elephant, turtle, beetle, and a lion. One button featuring a cat is labeled with a patent date of December 28, 1880. The buttons exhibit various finishes, including iridescent lusters and metallic gold and silver tones. The reverse of the board includes a First Prize blue ribbon from the Buckeye State Button Society dated 2010 and an original entry form classifying the lot as Black glass animals.
Display board: 11 inches height Pick up is Friday, March 13 from 10 am to 4 pm at our gallery in Lancaster, Ohio 43130 or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
