Description
This collection of antique drum style buttons dates to approximately 1840-1870. These are buttons featuring deep circular profiles and prominent gilt or brass-toned metal rims. The assortment includes various decorative techniques such as enamel work, mother-of-pearl inlays, and glass inserts, including black glass and salt overlay examples. Specific patterns observed include checkerboards, floral motifs, and spattered designs. Several examples are identified by handwritten notations as having pad backs. The construction utilizes a combination of metal housings with decorative face inserts.

Button diameters: 0.25 – 1 inch Pick up is Friday, March 13 from 10 am to 4 pm at our gallery in Lancaster, Ohio 43130 or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
