Description
An extensive collection of antique Czech Victorian metal buttons, primarily featuring shirt waist studs and dress elevators. The items are constructed from gold-plated metal and exhibit diverse decorative techniques, including intricate casting, enamel work such as a ladybug motif, and inset glass or gemstones in colors including red, green, purple, and clear. A significant portion of the collection is presented on a teal-colored sample board, while other pieces are mounted on original or period display cards. Notable printed and handwritten text on the ephemera includes Shirt Waist Studs – Victorian, Fine Gold Plate, and Dress Elevators. One card includes a technical illustration of a dress shirt showing the placement of studs.
