Description
An assortment of vintage and antique buttons, including black glass and gold-toned examples, presented on a mounting card labeled DIAMOND D BACKMARK. The collection features a diverse range of styles, including Victorian-era floral motifs, Art Deco geometric patterns, and figural designs such as a harp with musical notes, a stylized cat head, and heraldic crests. Construction materials include carved vegetable ivory, molded celluloid or early plastics, glass, and brass-toned metal. The buttons are found in various shapes, including circular, square, and irregular forms, with a color palette of cream, gold, silver, dark brown, and black. Several pieces are accompanied by handwritten notations on the card, including patent numbers such as PAT’D 139517 and PAT’D 314045, as well as descriptive notes like TRANSLUCENT (UNUSUAL).
