Description
An assortment of vintage and antique white metal buttons featuring a wide array of artistic styles including Art Nouveau, heraldic, geometric, and floral designs. The collection includes pieces with intricate filigree, colorful enamel work, and inset stones resembling turquoise, coral, and garnets. Notable examples include a large button with a reclining figural relief, a seal-style button inscribed in Latin SIGILLVM CIVITATIS IN PRAVNA 1202, and a circular button containing Arabic-style script. Other motifs present include a double-headed eagle, a square-framed bee, and a figural piece depicting cherubs. The items are mounted on a dark brown display board featuring a label that reads WHITE METAL AGE UNDETERMINED OR OLD along with a merchant mark for D.E.V. ATTLEBORO and various handwritten annotations.
The display board measures approximately 9 inches in height.
Individual buttons range in size from approximately 0.5 inches to 2 inches in diameter. Pick up is Friday, March 13 from 10 am to 4 pm at our gallery in Lancaster, Ohio 43130 or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
