Description
A collection of antique and vintage livery and uniform buttons mounted in an organized arrangement on a gray display board. The assortment features various heraldic crests, including lions, unicorns, birds, stags, and mailed arms holding weapons such as swords and axes. The buttons are constructed from brass, gilt metal, and silver-toned alloys, with one example in a dark composition material. Notable inscriptions on specific pieces include CERCLE DE LA GRANDE LOGE and the Latin motto HONESTA GLORIA FAX MENTIS. The display board includes handwritten descriptive notes such as HOLDING A SAW, SQUARE LIVERY CREST, and VERY SCARCE (PROB RARE). Several mounting points on the board remain empty.
Display board: 9 x 12 inches Pick up is Friday, March 13 from 10 am to 4 pm at our gallery in Lancaster, Ohio 43130 or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
