Description
This collection of assorted antique and vintage decorative metal buttons is mounted on a white display board titled BACKGROUNDS OF IMPORTANCE ON METAL and DIVISION I. The buttons feature metal bases of brass and silver-toned alloys with specialized background inserts including fabric, wood, mother-of-pearl, and parchment. Decorative motifs include floral and geometric patterns alongside pictorial scenes depicting heraldic lions, eagles, and figures in classical or medieval attire. Several examples are embellished with rhinestones or glass inserts.
