Description
These items are buttons featuring a diverse assortment of vintage and antique specimens primarily of metal construction. The group includes various finishes such as gilt, silver-tone, and patinated bronze. Many pieces exhibit two-piece construction with loop shanks as indicated by the mounting labels. Decorative motifs are varied, encompassing intricate floral and foliate designs, geometric patterns, and celestial symbols including stars and a crescent moon. Notable specimens include a large central button with a swirl motif, an enameled daisy, a button featuring a Scottish thistle, and a piece with a triangular emblem. Materials observed include brass, white metal, enamel, and a pearlescent specimen likely composed of mother-of-pearl or celluloid. The collection is mounted on magenta cardstock with labels identifying them as older two-piece metal construction of mixed and unknown age. Pick up is Friday, March 13 from 10 am to 4 pm at our gallery in Lancaster, Ohio 43130 or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
