Description
An assortment of antique and vintage decorative buttons presented on two display boards titled INLAID (ON VARIOUS) and INLAY. The collection features various materials including bone, horn, celluloid, mother-of-pearl, and tortoiseshell. Decorative techniques include intricate inlay and engraving with motifs such as stars, birds, floral patterns, and geometric designs. Handwritten notations on the backing boards identify specific constructions such as mother-of-pearl on celluloid, tortoiseshell and mother-of-pearl on bone, and nickel silver or alpaca. Shapes vary from standard round and square forms to lozenge and rectangular examples.
Width: 18 inches (combined boards) Pick up is Friday, March 13 from 10 am to 4 pm at our gallery in Lancaster, Ohio 43130 or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
