Description
A pair of antique sales sample books for waistcoat and vest buttons, attributed to Birmingham manufacture. The collection includes one black faux-leather book with a purple velvet lining and a second blue book with a paper card insert. The books contain an assortment of mother-of-pearl, abalone, and dark-toned buttons, some featuring decorative metal rims or central studs. The black book retains a printed price list for HIGH GRADE WAISTCOAT BUTTONS with model codes and pricing per set of six. The blue book houses a card for SUPERFINE FANCY VEST BUTTONS of BEST BRITISH MANUFACTURE, displaying a Crossed Swords trade mark, model numbers, and an illustration of shank and bolt fasteners. The reverse of the cards shows the metal shank and bolt hardware. These items are buttons used for commercial sales demonstrations.
Open blue book measures approximately 14 inches in width. Pick up is Friday, March 13 from 10 am to 4 pm at our gallery in Lancaster, Ohio 43130 or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
