Description
This collection consists of an assortment of buttons featuring iridescent mother-of-pearl bases with various decorative embellishments. The group includes specimens with cut steel accents, metal encrustation, hand-painted details, and intricate carvings. Notable motifs include geometric patterns, floral designs, and a figural leaping stag. Construction techniques vary, including items mounted in steel cups, brass settings, and some with fabric pad backs. Several buttons bear the French backmark DEPOSE. These items are buttons that demonstrate a range of late 19th and early 20th-century craftsmanship.
The display card measures approximately 11 inches by 9 inches. Pick up is Friday, March 13 from 10 am to 4 pm at our gallery in Lancaster, Ohio 43130 or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
