Description
"Landscape with Mountain Lake." in the Hudson River Valley School style of the 19th c. Signed illegibly with a date that may be 1874. Initials "S.F." or "G.F." in bottom left corner. Sunset view of a mountain lake, with a small cottage on the near shore. Oil on canvas in period gilt frame. Purchased at Garth’s Auctions in 2015. Framed size: 26" x 34". Condition: Very dirty with old damage and some repairs. The painting is tight, has been relined and waxed. There are areas of in-painting including to the sky, and the center of the water. Crazing throughout. There are a few tears as well one in the water approx. 4” in length as well as one in the sky, approx 3” in length. In-house shipping available. Pickup is Monday, July 31st from 11am to 4pm in Carroll, Ohio 43112 or we will provide in-house shipping for this item. We will collect 6.75% for Ohio residents, or whatever your state/local sales tax rate is for all out-of-state buyers unless you are tax exempt.
